Elaine Fletcher, Yoga Teacher

Having practiced yoga since early 1980's and qualifying as a teacher with the British Wheel of Yoga in 1994, yoga has been an invaluable tool for me maintaining a sense of well-being physically, mentally and emotionally.

I have been influenced by various teachers including Peter Blackaby, John Stirk, and Chloe Fremantle and my practice and teaching has in turn evolved.

My emphasis is on maintaining our natural range of movement. We are all individual and unique, there is no one size fits all striving to perform a shape. The focus on refining awareness, noticing sensations and feelings as we approach, move into and out of any pose, can promote a settling of the mind and a sense of well being.

Since 2002 I have been involved in delivering British Wheel of Yoga teacher training courses and have run or been a co-tutor on a number of training courses both in Essex and Sussex. I enjoy nurturing students, seeing the development of skills knowledge and confidence that come from achieving the teaching qualification.

I teach a variety of classes and also offer one- to ones or very small groups, this providing the opportunity to tailor a practice to individual needs.
